Almeda Sims Water Treatment Plant CHP Study

Bocci developed a green power solution for the Almeda Sims Wastewater Treatment Plant, integrating a 1.5 MW natural gas turbine with heat recovery into the facility’s newly replaced rotating drum sludge dryers. Through extensive performance modeling, the team engineered a CHP system that supplies approximately 75% of the plant’s electrical load and 70% of its thermal demand without exporting excess power. The system met the city’s energy, environmental, and financial performance requirements.

Projected Results:
